A website is an electronic brochure and shopfront on the Internet that tells potential customers about your business.

A website has several important advantages alongside traditional methods of customer communication (i.e. brochures, business cards, newsletters):

  • It is a showroom for your business to which you can direct potential customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • It allows you to reach a national or international audience at minimal cost.
  • It can provide an almost unlimited amount of information to potential customers, much more detailed than a Yellow Pages ad or printed brochure.
  • It can be altered quickly and easily to keep up to date with changes in your business, such as new price lists.
  • It can be added to gradually over time so you don't have to commit all your effort to it up front, and you can change your approach as you learn how it affects your business.
  • It can provide you with a tool to help manage customer contacts that allows you to improve your customer service. For example, visitors may be able to contact you for information via a form that provides you with basic information about their background and needs. You can store and retrieve this information directly using a Prospects Database.
  • It can be used to build customer loyalty to bring you repeat business and referrals to new customers. For example, you can provide a regularly updated "Newsflash" section of relevance to your target audience.
